Development Assessment Panels

The WAPC plans to implement DA panels, to assess development applications of a certain value and class, rather than the local Council and/or WAPC. Each panel will consist of 5 members, three specialists and two local government members. The City of Perth will have is own panel, but other metro and regional councils will share joint panels.

In the metro area, any commercial, industrial, retail, non-government educational, health, aged care, residential (over 10 dwellings) and mixed projects over $2 million will need to go to this new panel. For regional areas the type is the same, but the cut-off is $1 million.
