So of the 144 projects entered into the National Architecture Awards this year, unfortunately WA didn’t receive any Awards…again. However, well done to Blane Brackenridge who received a National Commendation for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing for their apartments in Cottesloe.
Once again most of the winners were Vic or NSW based? Not too sure why this is? Conspiracy theory of Eastern States sabotage? Different clientele? Better apprecation of architecture? Different governemnt / planning policies? We do some good stuff, but maybe just not the high-budget craziness like the National Portrait Gallery or the Armory Wharf Precinct. But then again, do the Awards even matter anyway? Or do i just think that cos i haven’t won any??!!
