The World’s First Solar Diesel Power Station

Did anyone else know that the little town of Marble Bar now boasts the WORLD’S first solar diesel power station? Powered by the biggest tracking solar array in Australia? At what I believe is a relatively cheap $25 million we have a power station that doesn’t need batteries and produces 1 160 kW of power. It is believed in the peak of summer it will provide enough power for 89% of the required load. When you look at how much government money gets spent on kind of trivial and random things, I can’t believe WA achieved something so incredible, so cheap. Here’s hoping this is just the first of many. We have such an opportunity in the middle of our state with endless sunshine and currently unused space, it would be great to utilise this for power generation. Lets continue our reputation as a world leader!
