Australia now has eight of the world’s 100 largest architecture firms

Last year I released this post on Australia’s six biggest firms (my most read post by the way). The list of the World’s top 100 architecture firms has been revealed again by BD magazine, and Australia has increased its numbers, which is interesting considering the current construction industry. AECOM has come in as No 1 overall, after several acquisitions in the last year.

Bates Smart is missing from this year’s list (they were 58th last year), new entries this year are BVN, Woods Bagot and DCM, and Thomson Adsett is the only Aussie firm that increased its ranking from last year. The Aussie firms in this year’s top 100 are: [note I haven’t included AECOM or ARUP, as I’m not sure how much architecture their firms do in Australia…yet]

Hassell: 33 (2010: 25)

HBO + EMTB: 41 (2010: 32)

Cox Architects: 42 (2010: 29)

Woodhead: 49 (2010: 35)

BVN Architecture: 51

Woods Bagot: 69

Thomson Adsett Architects: 81 (2010: 98)

Denton Corker Marshall: 85

This year pretty much all of the information is locked to subscribers, except for the A – Z list of practices, so my apologies if I’ve missed anyone.

A 2012 wrap-up
