Sunset Hospital site to be revitalised

The Premier has announced the Sunset Hospital site in Dalkieth will be revitalised into a community hub, ensuring public access to the river and restoring derelict heritage buildings on site.

Currently funding for the masterplan for the works has been set aside in next year’s budget, so planning can commence. The site is quite large with about nine buildings on site and a brilliant riverside location – the government has a great opportunity to do something really interesting here.

This would be quite a neat little project, I’m thinking something like the Heathcote site, which has been beautifully restored and turned into a great community space. We’ll see…
