So, no surprises, but the controversial Perth Arena by ARM Architecture and CCN took out a few Awards last night. It won the Public Architecture and Steel in Architecture Awards. Also not surprising, the great public space of Brookfield Place by HASSELL grabbed a few awards, taking out the Heritage (in conjunction with Palassis Architects), Urban Design (with Fitzpatrick + Partners) and Commercial Awards (with Fitzpatrick + Partners again). In the Residential categories, Campbell House by Kerry Hill won the Houses Award (and the Lighting Award), Fremantle Additions by Jonathan Lake Architects took out the Alterations + Additions Award and Lime Street by Formworks won the Multi Resi Award. John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School by Brooking Design Architects took out the Interior Architecture Award. Kings Park Education by Donaldson + Warn Architects won the Small Project Award, and the West Kimberley Regional Prison by TAG Architects and Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects took out the Sustainable Award.
