Well that’s disappointing… Of the total 185 projects eligible for a national Architecture Award this year, 59 have been short-listed. But only 3 of these are from our fair state. Three. And one of these is for Enduring Architecture, so not even a current project. Why is that? I know, awards and recognition aren’t why we do architecture, but it is just strange. Is it bias, or do we just not have the creativity / clients / perception to produce great architecture? Any thoughts?
So, congratulations to MORQ for the LOVESTORY shop, short-listed in the Small Project Category, HASSELL, Hames Sharley and Silver Thomas Hanley for Fiona Stanley Main Hospital Building, and Howlett & Bailey for Council House. Here’s hoping your talent is recognised.
